- It’s nitrates or nitrites that’s the preservative they add to cured meats – & I’m sorry to say they’re just as cancer-linked whether they get into your food via a chemistry lab or from celery juice.
- Consequentialism’s the mouthful of a term that G.E.M. Anscombe coined that came to be a kinda umbrella term for ethical frameworks that judge morality based on, well, consequences moreso than intentions.
Today’s Trivias
Trivia 1
What’s the latest dance craze you can remember? I feel like it’s been a li’l while since we had a really good one, eh? There was the Nae Nae & the Dab— but those are like, what, ten years old by now?
Oh, or what about that one that was in Fortnite? Do ya remember that? It was a whole thing, the kid who invented it – I think they called him “Backpack Kid”, right? – his mom sued Epic Games for includin the dance in the game. Can ya tell me what was the name of that dance?
I guess the lawsuit didn’t really have teeth to it, ’cause apparently it got dropped in 2019.
Trivia 2
Wikipedia reminded me of a dance that’s at least a LI’L more recent: the Griddy! Have ya seen that one? It’s where the dancer does these, like, li’l OK signs with their hands & puts ’em up to their eyes & clicks their heels together. It’s probably better know to football fans ’cause of how it got popularized by what Vikings wide receiver?
Apparently he learned the dance in college from his LSU teammate (& also future NFLer) Ja’Marr Chase, who HIMSELF had learned it in high school from his friend & teammate, Allen “Griddy” Davis. That’s where the name came from.
OK then
