Lemon and lime and everything fine
Hiya Skeleton Crew,
I gotta start today off with an errata of a screw-up I made last week!
ERRATA
I said that Vernon Reid was the lead singer of the band Living Colour, but that ain’t right! Nah, he’s the lead guitarist. The lead vocalist is a guy named Corey Glover.
END ERRATA
Thanks to the reader who caught that! In general if ya ever wanna flag a mistake I made, just shoot me an email at mister@skeletontrivia.com.
Answers to Last Time
- Jack Lemmon played Shelley Levine in the movie version of Glengarry Glen Ross.
- Once upon a time, bein in the limelight meant ya were lit up with a literal quicklime-based lamp!
Today’s Trivias
Trivia 1
What lemon-lime sodey pop shares a name with a tributary that confluences with the Colorado River in Canyonlands National Park?
I did a li’l historical diggin-into-it & it seems like the name of this pop comes from its chartreuse color, not any sorta connection to the aforementioned tributary. But I could be wrong!! Maybe we can talk a li’l more ’bout it tomorrow.
Trivia 2
The sodey pop from Trivia 1 is also the namesake song by what band that hit #2 on the Billboard chart (behind “Sugar, Sugar” by the Archies)? It’s one of the FIVE #2s that contributed to this band’s slightly dubious honor of bein the artist with the most Billboard#2s without ever having gotten a #1 hit.
Since it’s only a Monday, I’ll also give ya the more helpful hint that the song was written by the band’s lead vocalist and lead guitarist, a guy named John Fogerty.
OK then
