Skeleton Trivia for Monday, 2026-01-12
It wouldn’t be much of a FIFA World Cup without widespread corruption, right?
Hiya Skeleton Crew,
Happy Monday! I don’t got no special news for ya, so I’ll get on with the show right away.
Answers to Last Time
- Prussian blue was the special shade of blue that made Hokusai’s prints really POP.
- It’s Borussia Dortmund that’s the second-biggest sports club in Germany.
“Borussia” also happens to be the Latin name for “Prussia”, which is the li’l connection I snuck into the answers for themie Thursday. Congrats to those of youse who spotted it!
Today’s Trivias
Trivia 1
The Borussia question played kinda hard, but I don’t feel too bad ’cause it’ll be important to brush up on your soccer knowledge: it’s a World Cup year, baby!
Ya mighta heard it’ll be a three-country affair, with host duties spread among cities ’cross the U.S. of A., Canada, & Mexico. But once the quarterfinals get underway, the games’ll consolidate here in the States. It looks like Miami, L.A., Arlington, & Atlanta will all get a piece of the action, plus Kansas City & Foxborough, Mass (where the Patriots usually play).
But the final game’s planned to happen at MetLife Stadium in what sports complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey? The complex’s also home to a major harness racing circuit, & it was built on toppa a riparian ecosystem that’s where it gets its name from.
Trivia 2
Since we’re always lookin to the future here at the Trivia Zone, I can’t help but talk a bit ’bout the NEXT World Cup. It’s slated to be yet another trinational1 affair: this time among Portugal, Spain, & what other nation that’s recently been hit by big Gen Z protests, spurred by anger at all the public spending (& let’s be honest, probably corruption) re: the 2030 World Cup?
OK then
