Try saying “an eponymous economist" three times fast
Hiya Skeleton Crew,
I usually try to target a late-morning delivery time for these here newsletters, but I’ve been missin that mark as of late. Sorry for that!
Answers to Last Time
- Mr. Weird Al did a parody of Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll” called “I Love Rocky Road”.
- Scream 7 is comin out next month, which means that ya shoulda answered there were six Scream movies. I also tried to throw ya a li’l bone by mentionin that it was a “perfect” number of movies: the number 6 is a perfect number, mathematically speakin.
Today’s Trivias
Trivia 1
Japan’s got the eshaku (会釈), keirei (敬礼), & saikeirei (最敬礼). In Islam there’s the ruku (رُكوع) & sujud (سُجُود). There’s also waiin Thai culture (ไหว้) & pranāma (प्रणाम) in India. Although all those things I named are different in their nature & cultural usage, they’re all unified by what common action?
Trivia 2
Didja know that Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll” is a cover? Go figure! I guess ya really DO learn somethin new every day.
I could ask ya what band originally wrote that song ... but that would be pretty mean, ’cause they’re frankly not a very famous band. So instead I’ll ask ya what economist has a ’ponymous “impossibility theorem” that basically says that no ranked-choice voting system can completely avoid the risk of there being a “spoiler” candidate in the election?
OK then
