Answers to Last Time

  • The phrase I was lookin for yesterday to describe the social order in pre-Revolution France was ancien régime.
  • I showed youse guys a picture of Paris’s Palais Garnier, which is one of the more famous opera houses in the world.

Today’s Trivias

Trivia 1

Another famous opera house that ya gotta know for Trivia Purposes™ is La Scala:

It’s a fisheye lens photo of the inside of a opera house. Maybe ya’ve seen it in a movie or something? It’s got lotsa red & gold in it & it just looks overall pretty sumptuous & whatnot.

Well, can ya tell me: In quale città si trova il Teatro alla Scala?

Trivia 2

Out on the Island of Lewis back in the 1830s, reportedly somewhere ’round Uig Bay, some folks found a trove of what type of object that folks think were originally made in Trondheim?

The hoard’s got 93 items1 in it—which is a li’l surprisin, ’cause more typically ya’d expect a modern set to have closer to a third that many pieces. But it’s because the hoard’s actually probably a BUNCHA different sets that a merchant was carryin around with him.

OK then

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee

1 Or 94, depending on exactly what ya count as a “piece”. Also, the collection’s growing! Apparently someone ID’d a new piece not too long ago & auctioned it a few years back for a cool £735,000.
