And Iron Man, and Hulk, and Silver Surfer, and Ant-Man ...

Hiya Skeleton Crew,

Sorry for runnin’ late on today’s trivias!

Answers to Last Time

  • The light-hearted Harlequin, a stock character from the Italian commedia dell’arte, is famous for his checkered coat.
  • Those Punch and Judy puppet shows have also got their origins in commedia dell’arte.

Today’s Trivias

Trivia 1

Didja know Punch and Judy was the name of a comic strip from the ’40s? It was actually about a living marionette toy ’n’ his friend—so, uh, I guess more inspired by Pinocchio than those old Punch and Judy shows. But whatever. It was an OK comic strip! It for a little while, it was fine.

Honestly, prob’ly the main thing it was notable for was that it featured some of the early work a’ what comic book artist—who more famously worked with Joe Simon to create Captain America, an’ with Stan Lee to create the Fantastic Four ’n’ Black Panther ’n’ all sorts a’ X-Men?

Trivia 2

Since now I’ve gone ’n’ talked ’bout both Harlequin AND comic books in the same email, it’d be kinda weird if I didn’t mention Harley Quinn from the Batman comics. She’s a fan favorite, so I gotta mention her, right?

OK! So here I am, mentioning Harley Quinn! She’s officially been mentioned!!

Can any a’ youse guys reach back into your memories to tell me what was the 2020 movie starrin’ Margot Robbie that had the subtitle (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)? Although it’s a Harley Quinn movie, its namesake superhero team was founded in the comics by Barbara Gordon (a.k.a. Oracle) ’n’ Black Canary.

OK then

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

If ya give me your email address, I’ll send some trivias to ya! No joke!!!
