Skeleton Trivia for Wednesday, 2026-05-13
The lobster dress was a dress with a lobster painted on it, and sadly NOT a dress made for a lobster
Hiya Skeleton Crew,
Two days left in the season! These are yer last chances to get those last few points to move up the scoreboard as best ya can.
Answers to Last Time
- The Hollywood icon who starred in Peyton Place & was mother to Cheryl Crane? That’d be Lana Turner.
- It’s the element bismuth that puts the bis in Pepto-Bismol.
Today’s Trivias
Trivia 1
Lana Turner starred in a 1966 movie ’bout a lady who fakes her own death, commits murder while livin under a false identity, then gets defended in court by the very son she was forced to abandon! (Now THAT’S drama!) The movie’s based on a French play of the same title – NOT on a John Singer Sargent paintin that was recently in the news on account of how Mrs. Jeff Bezos showed up at the Met Gala wearin an outfit inspired by it.
Anyways, can ya tell me what’s the mysteeeeeerious name of that movie? Or the pseudonym of the controversial subject of that Sargent paintin – it’s the same answer.[1]
Trivia 2
The fashion house responsible for Mrs. Bezos’s dress was founded by what designer who famously worked with Salvador Dalí to make stuff like a lobster dress, a shoe hat, & – my favorite – a skeleton dress? She also popularized the color Shocking pink, which is named after her perfume Shocking.
OK then
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Since this is a trivia newsletter, I guess I’ll also mention somethin I only learned just now, which is that apparently this answer’s ALSO a nickname that Martha Graham gave to … Madonna? Yeah! I guess Madonna was a student at the Martha Graham School for a hot minute before she became famous? Crazy. I guess Madge made enough of an impression on Ms. Graham that she merited her own special nickname – & she apparently liked the nickname enough that it’s what she called her most recently released studio album. ↩︎
