A severely deficient circle
Hiya Skeleton Crew,
Ah jeez, youse guys. I musta taken a wrong turn, ’cause I got NO idea where the heck I am. Every time I come across a road sign, it says somethin like “DO NOT ENTER” or “WRONG WAY” or “TURN BACK” – but then when I do turn ’round, I just see another one of the same sorta signs in the direction I just came from! How does THAT make any sense, is what I wanna know?
Answers to Last Time
- A great circle traces out the shortest path between two points on a globe. Whereas I feel like I’ve been stuck goin in whatever the OPPOSITE of a great circle is. A not-great circle? Nah, even worse than that: a downright CRUMMY circle!
- The ballroom dance with the bullfightin connection is called the pasodoble – that’s Spanish for “double step”, don’tcha know?
Today’s Trivias
Trivia 1
Bein out here alone in the woods reminds me of that Stephen King book, the one that mostly takes place out in a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. It’s that one ’bout the author who gets trapped by a megafan, ya know it? They turned it into a movie with Kathy Bates, maybe that’s more familiar to ya. (It’s actually the only movie based on a Stephen King book that’s ever won an Oscar, crazily enough!) Anyway, can ya remind me of the title of that book/movie?
Trivia 2
Can ya tell me what musical started out as a series of eleven one-act plays written by George Furth, all revolvin ’round the theme of marriage?
OK then
