Skeleton Trivia for Thursday, 2026-07-16

Enough with the sports questions, Mister S!

Hiya Skeleton Crew,

We’re runnin super DUPER late today – sorry! – but it’s still the July 16 over in California, which is good enough for me to still call it a Thursday issue.

Thursday’s the day I usually like to remind new readers how I have a special mini-theme where the answers are linked in some kinda way. But I don’t think I’ve got any new readers, so there ain’t really no need to do that! Convenient, eh?

Answers to Last Time

  • Burt Reynolds is the fella who got into a tiff with Marc Summers on The Tonight Show.
  • Maria Bamford’s the comedian I was askin ’bout who starred in Lady Dynamite.

Today’s Trivias

Trivia 1

Pheasant Island is a fun li’l geographical oddity that’s notable for how it changes ownership between two different countries every six months. That’s actually been happenin ever since the 17th century, ever since the signin of the Treaty of what mountain range?

Trivia 2

The name of what territory’s got Celtic origins, linguistically speakin – either from a village in Fife, Scotland or a Breton saint, depending on who ya ask – despite bein somethin like 12,000 km away from anywhere Celtic languages are spoken?[1]

OK then

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  1. OK, so this actually ain’t true, on account of the few thousand or so Welsh speakers of Y Wladfa in the Chubut Valley, which is like less than 1,000 km away. So maybe I shoulda said “Celtic homelands”? ↩︎
